If you are not satisfied with the value placed on your property, you may complete and file a Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property with the Auditor's Office. Please read the instructions on the back of the complaint form and the Board of Revision Rules of Practice and Procedure. An incomplete complaint form may result in a dismissal. Auditor employees cannot give legal advice. If you have any questions regarding the filing of a complaint please consult your attorney, as a complaint initiates a legal proceeding.

The burden of proof is on the complainant. The Board of Revision has the authority to increase, decrease or make no change in the valuation of your property. The Board of Revision does not hear complaints about TAXES. The objective is to provide a fair and equitable review of the property value.

The Auditor is the permanent Secretary of the Board of Revision which also includes the County Treasurer and the President of the Board of Commissioners. It is the responsibility of the BOR to rule on property assessment prior to the issuance of the real estate tax list.
